A.C.E. Pilot Program

In 2008, the Mississippi Glyphosate Stewardship Coalition established the A.C.E. Pilot Program to recognize the best aerial applicators in Mississippi based on environmental criteria. The goal of the program is to encourage voluntary practices that reduce pesticide drift. All Mississippi licensed aerial applicators qualify for the program. Winners receive a large sign, recognition in regional media outlets, and a substantial cash award.

A.C.E. Pilot Program is sponsored by Monsanto, Syngenta, CropLife, and the Environmental Protection Agency

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Gentlemen, Thank you for the kind words! Now this award isnt like being a World War II ace, so I havent quite made it to Bob Hoover or Chuck Yeager status, but it is an honor I am proud to receive! A little about the "Ace Pilot" award so you will understand more about what I have won. Here is a little cut n paste from Delta farm Press.

quote:
The A.C.E. Pilot Program was developed to recognize top environmental stewards in the ag aviation industry and to encourage others pilots to become better stewards.

Organizations involved in developing and administering the program included CropLife America, Delta Council, Delta F.A.R.M., Mississippi Agricultural Aviation Association, Mississippi Ag Industry Council, Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation, Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, Monsanto, Southern Crop Protection Association, Syngenta, USDA Agricultural Research Service and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

All licensed aerial applicator in Mississippi who were members of the Mississippi Agricultural Aviation Association in 2008 and had no proven drift violations within the past 24 months were eligible to participate in the A.C.E. Pilot Program. Each participant completed a questionnaire that documented experience, track record, and voluntary environmental stewardship efforts.

The selection process takes into account The number of hours flown annually, the total acres of applied Roundup(off target drift is a major concern for Ag aviation), must have a clean record (I have been lucky!!!) weather the pilot participates in safety meetings and recycling programs which I do both. Again, thank you all for the kind words and cant wait to see everyone in TX!

Bal, I will get you a bumpersticker for the Porche that reads, "My Hunting Buddy is an ACE Pilot!" jumping
