Well I just picked up my new VC 577 today. It has a straighter grip than my first one. It has been so long since I held my old one that it is taking me a little time to get used to the feel of it. Hope to be able to shoot it soon.

Mighty nice Sam!
Don't let Biebs buy it, I don't have the money to buy it from him ...

Paul,

With that 5kg ammo weight limit I would only be able to shoot 11 buffalo. I'm going to bring my 500, then I can shoot 20.

Might as well carry the 577, I think you only have 2 on quota now!

Michael,

I may only have two left but if I'm close to you bullets will fly if you don't knock yours down with the first shot.

Don,

The gun has 24 inch barrels and weighs exactly 13 lbs. So I guess that will go nicely with a #13 bullet. I would had liked to had it lighter but this was as light as VC wanted to make it. The gun does not have any weight or recoil reducers in the butt so this is as light as it gets. Shot it today just a left and right at 25 yards offhand and the holes were almost touching so I think it is going to shoot. The gun is very comfortable to shoot. It has been a long time since I handled a 577 so it took a little getting used to the feel of it. I think this gun will grow on me as time passes.

byf42 stopped by today on his way to Florida and shot it also. I think he liked it! He also shot my VC 500 and Sabatti 500. We both agree the 577 is easier to shoot than the 500s.

13 lbs, wow that's a lot of double !

You'd have to get it sent over in pieces so as to stay under the airline max weights Big Grin

That's a lot of gun to be carting around all day, but boy how I'd love to see it smash some buff over.

Biebs, I don't understand. You posted a beautiful .577 V.C not long ago, was that not yours ?

Paul the ammo is heavier than the gun when you carry 20 rds. I'd love to use it on our hunt but I'd have to line up 3 or 4 to conserve ammo.

Biebs sells them before he opens the box. I think he should be called Gunbroker.
