The higher the number, the bigger the dot on target. 3.5 MOA is maximum for hunting IMO. 7 MOA dot is OK for shooting people but too big for precise point of aim Consider the Burris FastFire II. It can be had for $200. I put one on my RSM .458Lott and have had no problems so far. 3.5 MOA dot.
