I found this interesting as its faster to single load a pump shotgun for 4 shots( quite a bit) than a double sxs for 4 shots. some real fast shooting. fast shooting

It does not look like the bolt never locks up on the round - the only motion I can see on the pump is moving it forward. But this is still fast! I don't know, if you did not have to either shoulder or aim the rifle, you could probably get 4 rounds to make noise pretty quick. And within the DRSS we have a small but elite corps of indivuduals. Their identites are secret. They are known as the "doubling doublers" - that rare breed that shoots both barrels on an aimed shot at the same time. We have one for each Nitro caliber - one for the 470, one for the 500 and one for the 577 nitro express rounds. Dangerous game quakes at the mere mention of their names. As do fathers of attractive women of legal age and liquor store owners with low inventories. In their anger, they have been known to drain liquor cabinets, ravish women and drive off all animal life (of course, depending on the extent of the liquor stockpile, they sometimes reverse the last two). And you talk about fast? Hahaa! The Doubling Doublers invented the word. So please show the proper respect and decorum when discussing this topic. They are a rare breed indeed.... I shoot a little CAS (cowboy action shooting) just for fun, and "Badlands Bud" is 17 or 18. He runs a '97 nearly that fast and hits four steel knockdown targets routinely at CAS matches. You should see him with a SAA or an 1873 winchester. Sounds like a semi-auto. Rich NRA Life Member DRSS

I found it interesting as I am a double fan but when I started shooting cas I saw all the fast guys used the pumps over the doubles most stages involve over 4 shotgun targets and after two shots the pump pulls away from the doubles. My son is 13yrs old and sometimes uses it 45lc pump over a lever rifle and when he is clicking those ten shots are FAST and he hits the metal targets. Those old pumps you hold the trigger back and just pump away. (slamfire) Dean no where near that fast

You should watch that kid load and shoot that double SxS shotgun. Wooooo...fast! Double rifle shooters take notes! ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. notice the kid isnt holding the secound shells in his hand. they come from the belt. DB bill dont let the gamers ruin it! I still shoot what ever gun I like no matter how slow. Like a converted Walker one handed. Generaly I am in a fierce battle for last place. But always have a great time. The guy putting 6 shots with the pump is unreal!! Dean
