Malek: Long time ago I saw some drawings on an RCBS ballistic program. I will try to retrieve them from an old computer .
My experiences with the 30R Blaser has been excelent in accuracy , reloading and killing power. I regularly hunt wild boar , red deer and fallow deer, also have hunted tahr and chamois.
Accuracy because I have Blasers :BBF -95 and K-95 , both in 30R and Blasers are the most accurate rifles I have ever own (my experience in 8 calibres, from 223 to 416 RM).
Reloading because with all the restrictions here,I have to "scavenge" reloading components, disassembling old 308 and 3006 and using its powder and bullets. The calibre is forgiving in that respect and always get good velocities and accuracy. In all these years I have lost only two pieces of brass due to fatigue , with splitted necks after using too fast powder with 180 grainers( I 've lost others on a wrong annealing procedure). But RWS brass seems to last forever.
Velocities , with 180 grs and IMR 4350 got 2850 fps, and 2950 with 165 grainers, and I was happy with that.
Good luck in your proyect.

Thanks Pulki for your detailed input and for looking in your old computer for more info. I know few here on AR had the 30R Blaser and have loaded for it.

Where are you located, Chile South America?

Also thank you herrdoktor for the link, though I could not decipher the abbreviations and make sense of the #s are they in Metric or what?

Sorry, Malek:

I forgot the differente units. They are in milimeters. Regarding the abbreviations: The ones in the left are diameters. From top to base: tip, Base, Mouth, Neck, Shoulder, One I don´t know (H), Groove, Rim.
The numbers in the right: TL, total length, CL Case length, NL Neck length. SL Shoulder (mm from base), HL mm from base. GW Groove length, RT Rim thickness.
The site Municion.org is little known outside Spain, but there you can find dimensions and photos of a very great number of different cartridges, old and new.I think it is the official site of the spanish Cartridge Collectors Association. A big pity it is written only in Spanish...

Malek, good to hear from you too, and happy holidays. Ammoguide is a great website; I think the subscription is $19 or something. There is a feature on it where you csn enter a cartridge and it will tell you candidates for rechambering.

Hi Paul:

Hopefully you had a good and merry Christmas and enjoyed your family.

I did see that feature and think that I might put it for some good use.

I will be away on a boar hunt, we'll connect when I am back.

Thanks again

Thanks everybody for you help and input. I finally got the reamer with the help of an AR member and another member sent me an empty case. Almost ready to start the project, God willing.

The 30R Blaser looks to be a very good all around NA round and a sensible way to go.

Happy new year to all.
