I still shoot a friend's Searcy that was one of the first post-shotgun action doubles made entirely by Butch. It has had a couple of thousand rounds through it and it still is tight as a tick and shoots 2" groups at 50 yards all day long... And, never resting on his laurels, about ever six months Butch comes up with an improvement making his guns just better.

If he'd left well-enough alone, he'd still be making a reliable, hell-for-strong double, but they seem to get finer and finer!

Way to go, my man!

BTW, you have any pictures of a round action .450 N.E. that I hear you're making?

What is the benefit of a "long bar" action? Is is just for added a strength?
