Actually, it says that the muzzle brakes are available only on custom ordered new built rifles. That means Krieghoff puts them on, not Answer Products. Really bad idea, anyway.

While a muzzlebrake might be justified on a long range hunting rifle, I would not want one on a rifle used for up close dangerous game.

They are just too loud for the PH or who ever is backing you up.

I've done a fair amount of business with them.. Don White the new owner will work with you on what ever project you can think of.. I strongly suggest you have him tell you about the Talbot Scope Mounts for Bolt Rifles..Also the Answer Brake is on a few of my bolt guns..
Don't put a brake on a Double Gun..There are other options..

Sam, the former owner, actually put brakes on a Kreighoff about four or five years ago. I can tell you it was the ugliest thing you could imagine. To the best of my knowledge they are still trying to sell the thing. Although I don't use them, the Answer Brake is about the trimmest, and quietest brake I've seen. I have a friend who used to work at Answer Products, and he has one on his .338 WM. I have shot the gun with and without and it about cuts the recoil in half. Doesn't seem any louder with the brake.

Vais also makes good muzzle brakes. There was also another company that started a couple of years ago. I can't remember the name but there were some discussion here about their product. Their web site had videos showing negative muzzle rise on shooting ie. the muzzle went down! They claimed that they could tune the brake. They had videos of big bore rifles (including a 416 Rigby) as well as pistols.
Probably worth trying to find. BTW they also claimed no increase in noise.

The only reason to put a muzzle brake on a rifle is to annoy the guy shooting next to you at the range! I can think of no better way to screw up the regulation of a double rifle, or to make a fine rifle ugly, than to install muzzle brakes. If a rifle kicks enough to NEED a muzzle brake, then it needs to be a smaller, or better designed rifle. thumbdown
