A friend is trying to work up a load for his new Kreighoff 500/416. Does anyone have any experience with developing loads for this rifle and caliber or any suggestions for him as he gets started? Thanks all. Will J. Parks, III | ||

The regulation load for my Krieghoff 500/.416 was 109 grains of H1000 and a 410 grain Woodleigh soft. I would start at about 106 grains and work up. Mine works great with 108 grains of H1000 with either a 410 grain Woodleigh soft or 400 grain Hornady soft, NOT the Hornady DGX bullets. With the Woodleigh solids, I just back it off 1-2 grains but I haven't shot many solids with it. For the most part, I have been using BeLL brass but I have 100 rounds of new brass from Jamison (now Captech) Great caliber. I have data with other powders if you need it, just send me a PM but H1000 seems to be the powder of choice for the 500/.416.
