Some of you may remember the buttstock on my 450 No2 was broken durring my return trip from Zim.

I picked it up from JJ Perodeau on my way back from Idaho, and shot it today.

JJ did an excellent job of restocking, the new stock looking and fitting me even better than the old one.

I went to the range with 470 Evans.

He shot his 500/450 H&H, which shot very good, [but I will let him tell his story, with a hint the 75% rule works for his double as well.]

I shot the gun off of bags, as were shooting at a range that has a building where you shoot through a window.

At 50 and 100 I was hitting 6 to 8 inches high.

I do not test my loads off of bags so I figured my position on the bags was changing the recoil movement of the gun vs shooting standing.

Before we left I shot the gun standing at 50 yards and the rounds hit where they should, so it does not seem like the new stock has changed the regulation.

This was the frst time I have chronoed my loads with RL 15.

Jim shot 2 rounds each one right and one left, from my 450 No2,of the following loads through his chrony.

All loads with foam filler. All velocities average of left and right bbl.

350gr Hornady RN 81gr of IMR 3031, vel. 2380 fps.

500gr Hornady RN 88gr of RL 15, vel. 2161 fps.

480 Woodleigh Soft, 88gr RL 15, vel. 2140 fps.

450 North Fork CPS 89 gr of RL 15, vel. 2193 fps.

On this double the right bbl is usually a little faster than the left 10 to 25 fps or so.

I am going to shoot her some more to check the regulation with the new stock, but, I do not think there is any problem.

I am glad to have her back.

Tony, how long did JJ have your beauty?
Quite a homecoming for sure especially when the regulation apears to have not suffered any, that had to be an anxious moment at the range.

I cannot remember exactly when I took it to him.

But he had it for a little over a year and a half.

I told him to take his time as I was not in a big hurry.

Regulation seems to be just fine, I hope to shoot it again an a week or so at the deer lease.

Tony,
Glad you got your rifle back and that the regulation hasn’t changed. I would have been surprised if JJ had let it out of his shop with out checking it first.
