Thanks Mike but I ferried the last plane in a couple days ago and am picking up the frozen meat tonight and hopefully it will thaw in time to finish butchering by the weekend. Good thing I brought in a few extra boxes of ammo for the 450/400. I even have the 505 with me.

I'll be there 10-1130 with a few doubles, a 10 and 2 8s, + a howdah and my 4-bore single and lots of ammo (at a wide range of levels) if anyone wants to give'em a shot. I'll also have a Navy Arms copy of a Greener Light Harpoon gun and a few dummy harpoons to chrono and play with. Come on out!

I'm looking forward to it!

I am. Walter Earl down at the Antique Gallery has it. I'm wanting to upgrade to an ejector gun at 10.5-11lbs. Unfortunately I have to sell my gun before I upgrade.

I'd love to make it as I've been invited to shoot doubles with at least one of the posters here, on other forums, and I just purchased a new Sabatti in 45-70.

Alas, I'm deployed, and will have to wait for "next time" yet again.

Enjoy guys.

Snowwolfe, I'm still going to take you up on that offer to shoot your 9.3x74 whenever I make it back to AK for more than a few weeks.

If you're the one that has the sabatti out at AkCG.. I saw it yesterday! It looks nice! I left my number with Steve so you can contact me when you get back from the sandbox.
Then we can go out and play with it.

Yes, that would be mine!

Picked her up while in TX training for the deployment, I know its not the nicest gun in the world, but at 25, its a double I can afford, so it had to be mine.

A good time today. Unfortunately I had to leave early.

Not doubles, but we did confirm that both the harpoon gun and 4-bore should be adequate for baby seal defense.

If you look close, there is a 1" diameter hole right between the eyes, which is much more difficult than a frontal brain shot on an elephant due to target size. In the event of a charge I think the preferred technique is to use the harpoon to pin'em to the ice, then the rifle to finish'em off.

My wife says the same thing. I try to explain that I can't afford a therapist because I have to spend all of my money on rifles and hunting.

Here's the final picture with assorted 4-bore, harpoon, and 577 holes. Note the black eyes full of hate.

Sorry we missed them! Due to the number of folks there (very crowded for a a chilly Nov day) the 50 yard range had the most room.

Next time we should be more explicit about where to meet and what everyone is driving. I should be able to make it next Saturday at the same time barring anything unforeseen.

Sorry we missed you guys! When we drove in, we saw what was either a LEO training class, or "tactical" fans of some sort on the shorter ranges and breezed right on by. Man was it packed. When we signed in, we asked the RO if he knew where you guys were, but he didn't know anything. Hopefully next time. Sure was a great day to shoot...this weather can't last much longer!
