Where can I get cape buffalo and leopard targets like we used at the DRSS shoot earlier this year?

Katte is suppose to be coming to the DRSS hunt in June. If he comes, hopefully he can bring some extra target.

I want some, even if I have to buy them off of him.

Brian1, and 577, maybe we could keep a couple of the targest clean, and have somebody in the USA copy them, so we would have a steady supply!
I'd certainly be in the line to buy some of them! I don't know why some of the target maker here in the USA haven't already jumped on that market, if nothing else to sell to gun clubs, and shooting ranges!

Our esteemed friend from SA is bringing some targets.

If someone can e-mail me some high-resolution photos I know a graphics artist who can do something with them...once he does his magic it'a simple thing to get copies made...all I need to know is how big, how many and what stock of paper you need.

I should also have said it doesn't need to be photos of actual targets as good hi-res photos of animals will also do fine.

Big is about 3 feet by 4 feet. Some larger, some smaller.

Getting a good price on approaching full-size would probably need a reasonable size order. The other option would be to have it done in sections and stapeled to a backboard.

With the graphics and printing available here in Los Angeles almost anything is possible.

The targets we are talking about are not "hollywood" quality. If we are going to go that route, we can get much better starter pictures from the members here.

Just a suggestion - let's take this to a PM thread after we get a count of who is interested and who can contribute pictures.

If Saeed is in the house, I take it we can develop targets from your file?

Thaht's fine with me. The higher resolution the photos the better the end result.

I would be interested in a few dozen.

OK guys, let's get any pictures we have collectively of buff, lion, leopard, kudu, eland, wildebeast, impala, etc. Mothers in law are optional (probably a limited demand on those).

Post the pictures here or on a new thread so we can get an idea of what works. We can then take this to a PM thread. Or just leave it open here.

IF Saeed will let us, we can work on a group buy under the AR name, and perhaps offer them in the AR store. Keeping with the generous theme of AR, this will only be actual costs of production.

Sounds like a great idea -- the cheapest route may be cardboard cut outs, w. vitals printed on them -- I have to dig up the name, but we use a company that runs a few thousand boxes at a time for us -- they specialize in small, custom orders.

Count me in for some.

Before I can go any further, I need some good quality high-resolution photos to take to my graphic artist buddy.

If you have them made I am sure they will sell on this site. I would be interested.

I put up a thread on the African Hunting Forum looking for "full frontal buffalo" pics so I could print some targets on our map plotter. Got a few good pics, ended up using one of Saeed's pics from his picture gallery. Just printed it at 36"x40" so I could get the horn tips 36" apart (to approximate life size).

Canuck32 also had a bunch of pictures printed off. He just took them to Staples (Business Depot) and they printed them for him. Any print shop can probably do it too.
