How does it compare with the 470? Would be a good choice for all dangerous game?

think of it as an equivalent load for DR's to the 458WM. Okay, 150fps more. I have a hotrod loaded 45-120, 520gr bullets about 2200fps actual chrono velocity. It should be pretty close to the .470NE. I have a Searcy now, very easy recoil in a well stocked Double.

Depends on the weight of the gun. My M.K. Owen (450 x 3 1/4) recoils less than my K gun in 500/416.

450 3 1/4 and 470 are pretty much a toss-up in equally-weighted rifles.

Think about it this way... You're tossing out a slug that weighs about the same (480 vs 500 grns) at the same speed out of a rifle that weghts about the same. The recoil should work out the same. the felt recoil will depend weither or not the rifle fits you good.

I haven't shot a 470 just some 450's and bore rifles but that makes sense to me. If I'm wrong then Mac or someone will make sense of it. I would like to shoot them side by side sometime.
