I need some background info on a Munich gun maker/shop from the 1870's-1890's, called Miller and Val Greiss. A friend has a hammer double rifle in 10.5X47R and we're putting together an article for Gun Digest on the gun, getting it back in shooting shape, making ammo, etc. I would appreciate any background any of you fine gentlemen could provide, or a good place to start looking.
Any historians out there?

You may find some guys who know about this maker over at www.nitroexpress.com

they were a very fine maker and had workshops in suhl germany.
check - they may still be in business - one of the old munich makers still was as of 3 -4 yrs ago.

Thanks guys, for the info. By the way TOMO, Ralph says to say hello, and we're using that Wickliffe action on a custom rifle.

I don't know a whole lot about that firm, but they originated several cartridges, at least one or two of which were listed in at least one edition of Cartridges of the World.....
