I’m in need of some 600 NE dies. Anybody have some you will let go or can point me in a direction to acquiring some rather quickly?
Thanks!

.

That's a relief! I opened this link expecting an obituary about 600NE!

Good luck sourcing your 'dies'.

That's a good thing. I spoke to Dave a couple of months ago and he's on a 2+ year back order. He's busy as hell and can't find skilled workers to expand.

I don’t remember if I still have my CH4D in addition to my RCBS.
If I have both, I’ll sell you the CH4D.

If I don’t, I can lend you the RCBS dies but I’ll need them back.

I thought you may have found a matching Marcel Thys in 600 NE. Your 577 is so "last week" :-)

Just did a search and came up empty on the CH4D dies.
Sorry.

I can still lend you the RCBS if he needs them for only a few weeks.
I lent them to Buckstix when he first got his 600.

I can lend you some CH4 dies if needed. Not using them at present and it may be a while before I do.

Thank You all! Just snagged those off of armslist. Hopefully they will work. Have had mixed luck with CH4D. Thank you CCMDoc and Rockdoc for your generous offer!

My .600 is a Wilkes from 1914, regulated for 110 grains of cordite.
To get regulated velocity and accuracy I shoot:
160 grains of IMR 4831 and a 900-grain Woodleigh soft nose.
155 grains of IMR 4831 and a 900-grain Woodleigh solid.

I also use lead 900 grains bullets with IMR 4831 with 100-110-120-130-140 as lighter loads for folks that want to shoot a .600 with reduced recoil.

My Verney-Carron 600NE has 26” barrels and was regulated with WR ammo which I chrono’ed at 2,025fps.
That’s the velocity I aimed for ultimately and achieved with all but the Reloder 25 below.

All with 900gr CEB though I get similar velocity with 900gr Woodleighs and these are loads and velocities a bit lighter and lower than my regulated/hunting load.
I’m sure I need not say “Start 10% lower and work up” (except TrailBoss which is really volume based then weigh and yes it is really only 37grains).

W760 140gr 1,925fps

Accurate 4350 142gr 1,985fps

Reloder 22 162gr 1,905fps

Reloder 25 140gr 1,815fps

TrailBoss 37gr - don’t know velocity but laughed my ass off at the lack of recoil.

Plus I’ve also used Cal’s loads but only with 900gr Woodleighs and Rhino Bullets.

It’s so cool to start a thread with .600 and whatever follows. I do hope one day I can join, or at least fire one off.

You're welcome to the Alaska double shoot May 4 and fire my .600 as much as you wish. All my others, too, (except the 4-bore which I just sold).

I shoot a Verney Carron I bought second hand and I don't know what it was regulated with but my load is 120gr RE15 with foam filler and 900gr Woodleigh softs for 1875fps.
It shoots to the sights so I figure it must be the relationship velocity or at least close enoughSmiler

It was Wade Bale's. I believe he bought it new. I used to borrow it from him now I own it and he borrows it from me. The old way was cheaper!!!
