Merkel 140 questions

Good day all, new here, first post.
I have a Merkel 140 with set trigger, ejectors and claw mounts.
Going to Limpoppo, SA next May and I need to take care of some issues on my rifle.
First questions:
1. I have search the post and not found any discussion on the height of the sights, I can not get my face smashed down to get the front and rear sight aligned I had the hogback removed completely and it's still not low enough. Has anyone had this problem?
2. How does the front sight come out?
3. Is it difficult to remove the butt stock for cleaning, inspection and lubing? How often should this be done?
4. Is there a date of manufacture stamped on the barrels? Two numbers are stamped 393 with the proof mark and 7085 on one barrel.
5. Triggers are horrible. Can a gunsmith not versed in DR's who works on SXS shotgun triggers do this?
6. What's involved on removing the auto safety "feature"?

Thank you,
Carl

Welcome to AR.

Send the gun to JJ at Champlins in Enid, Ok. and he will take care of everything.

E-mail Merkel in Germany with the serial number and they will tell you the date of completion as well as the ammo with which it was regulated.
