Is anyone familiar with a Steyr double rifle? Saw what was described as one at the show yesterday. As I remember the description....Made in 1880-1890's, external hammers, underlever that was rotated to unlock the action, ivory front blade, flip up peep in the wrist, 500-450 caliber, Horn finger rest behind trigger guard, bouble set triggers, Whitworth rifling pattern. Really pretty little rifle. Had been re-blued and possibly re-colored cased. He was asking $3000 with brass and dies. I don't have that much right now. So, did I mess up by not getting a loan?

Sounds spectacular. One of the black powder 500/450s? Unlikely to be the Nitroexpress at that combination of price and age. Be good for deer/antelope, but you'd want to be sure of the caliber for brass/dies...

Regards
