Butch sent me some pictures and ask that I post them. He told me that the "Rising Bite" rifle is completed and at the photographer's studio now. He said he would provide pictures when they came in.

The first rifle is a current production Side lock. I was not given the chamberings for these two rifles.

Very nice! I wonder what the rising 3rd bite rifles will cost without fancy extras.

tw probably is trying to recall all the books so he can rewrite the page(s) denigrating the American Double and "borrow" one of the new Searcy rifles for a thirty year durability test...

A ha-ha-ha...

I understand that that type of engraving isn't everyone's taste, but thank you.

The photos are nice, but I can attest that the engraving looks A LOT better in person - this is my gun.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! I normally don't like deep relief engraving or animal scenes on lower end guns
as I don't think they are all that well executed -I have 2 Merkels and one
Saraqueta, none of which are much good but that's what you pay for.

The reason I said that was nice is I think the animals are very well done,
the balance between the scroll and the game is about right, but in addition
and IMHO importantly, he has come up with a style that suits the gun but isn't
a copy of Rigby / Holland / Purdey etc etc. I hope you see where I am coming from.

A "B Searcy style" is what I hope he will come up with for the Rising Bite guns
he is going to make.
