Cabela's has a pretty good selection of gun safes! Keep yer powder dry and yer knife sharp.

Lots of flavors available. My thinking on these has changed over the years (not enough to get me to replace my old ones). I would look at fire protection and water protection as these problems are probably more common than theft. Fire protection is fairly easy but it makes the safes bigger and heavier. I have never seen any mention of water protection but is some parts of the country floods are not that uncommon. Also water can get in if someone is trying to put out a fire. And no matter how big a safe you buy it won't be big enough. C.G.B.

Ray, I have a USA made Stealth gun safe. Mine is only a smaller capacity one but they seem very well made and reasonably priced even here in NZ. Careful when selecting a safe though as some brands advertise say a 20 gun safe but the guns are racked along the back and the sides and it can be a pain to get guns in and out of the safe with this configuration without moving other guns to 'clear a path'. My son has one of these safes and you end up banging guns together if not careful when removing them from the racks. Obviously if you have a lot of guns you can't just have them all racked in a row otherwise the safe would be too wide but don't buy one that is cramped for space inside.
