A young man from Texas moves to California and is hired by a huge kind of department store or complex -the kind that sells just about anything under the sun.

At the end of the first day, the manager comes over to check on the new man. He asks the young Texan how much did he ring up in sales for the day?

The Texan says: $101,585.92

The manager is astonished and asks for a run down.

The Texan says: " Well, first the customer asked me for a small fishing hook. Then I talked him into a medium sized hook and then finally into a large fishing hook".

The manager says: That's a long ways from $101,585.92"

The Texan says: " Well, then we got talking more about fishing and I asked him where he planned to go fishing. He said he wanted to be up in the mountains on a lake so I told him he needed a good 16'boat with a 35 HP Mercury and took him down to our boat and engine department where he bought them. Then I asked what kind of vehicle he had to haul it and I ended up telling him that his little Honda Civic would never do the job. I took him down to the Automotive Department and sold him a 4x4 Blazer".

The Manager is impressed and says so. He then asks the Texan: " How did you get started talking to this customer?"

The Texan says: "Oh, it was easy. He walked in and asked for a box of Tampons. I told him, since the weekend is shot, why don't you go fishing?"

Gerry, this one is still funny, but it was better as the Harrods joke.
