A Scots boy comes home and informs his mother that he has a part in a school play. His mother is delighted, of course, and asks what role he has. The boy replies: " A Scottish husband". His mother scowls. She tells her son:" Go tell your teacher that you want a speaking part!".

(Being Irish I have to admit that I could have used this as an Irish joke also.)
