As most of us have heard sometime in our lives, some people take easily to learning languages, while others take more readily to hard sciences such as math, physics, etc.

Often it is claimed that the "language people" are more artistic generally, with more fully developed use of the right sides of their brains, while the math/science types are primarily left brain dominant. Females are often more right brain dominant than males, who tend to be '"left-brainers".

Left brain users are "logical, sequential, rational, analytical, objective, and frequently can concentrate more easily on specific parts of an object than the whole". Right brain folk are "random, instinctive, holistic, synthesizing, subjective, and more commonly look at the big picture (the whole)".

It is because of this ability to synthesize grammar and intuit context that women and other right brainers are often so adept at languages.

My hunting partner swears that his wife is the paradigm, sterotypic, ultimate example of the right brain driven female linguist in its ultimate expression of language skills.

As proof, he says she is fluent in 106 languages and dialects. In each and every one of them she can use the correct idioms and colloquialisms to say "Not tonight dear, I have a headache!!!"
