Before the Aussies come after me with guns (being the nervous type I'm scared of guys with guns) I hasten to say that I read this joke on an AUSSIE web site.

The Lord is talking to the Archangel Michael who is in awe of this world that the Lord has just created. The Lord says that He has tried to have BALANCE in all that He has created. Michael points to two areas near the bottom of the world and asks about them.

The Lord says: Yes, that's one of my
best creations. Eventually my humans will call it NEW ZEALAND. It's a country of incredible beauty with green mountains, sparkling rivers and gleaming white sandy beaches. It's people are good looking, intelligent, extremely sociable and will be known throughout the world as diplomats and bearers of peace. They will be strong in character and admired by everyone..

The Archangel Michael asks: " Yes, but what about BALANCE?

The Lord replies: " Wait until you see the buggers next to them!".

Yup, no sparkling rivers here!
