One Texas Morning Long Ago......
It was March 6, 1836, and on that fateful day, Davy Crockett woke up and rose from his bunk on the main floor of the Alamo.

He then walked up to the observation post along the west wall of this fort. William B. Travis and Jim Bowie were already there, looking out over the top of the wall.

These three great men gazed at the hordes of Mexicans moving steadily toward them.

With a puzzled look on his face, Crockett turned to Bowie and said.........

"Jim, are we having some landscaping done today?"

not to over analyze your joke, but to set date straight, the Alamo siege began on Feb.23 and was over by March 6th 1836. just trying to insure, we "Remember the Alamo".

Here's a little more info about the Alamo. There were only 7 or 8 of the defenders that were born in Texas. And, all of them had Hispanic surnames. All of the heros of that battle (Crockett, Bowie, Travis etc...) were from elsewhere.

While the Texans love to jump on the Alamo bandwagon and proclaim it as a historic battle for Texas, most are ignorant that the actual fighters were from all over the USA. It was an American battle, not strictly a Texan battle. But, you'll never hear a Texan publicly admit that. Big Grin

TEjas Independance day is March 3rd.We celebrate it here. For what its worth;there was supposedly one of the new Colt Patterson revolvers at the Alamo.Considering that it was made in 1836 in Hartford,Conn. + then made its way to Texas by March.......GOD but a time machine if only to observe would be......

Never mistake motion for action.
