If any of you plan on traveling to Yellowstone this year, the park has issued a warning to visitors that will be hiking through the park: Hiker's should take appropriate precautions when moving through Yellowstone, including being able to identify bear scat (droppings), and being prepared to repel the bears if necessary. We recommend that you wear bells to alert the bears to your presence, and carry pepper spray to repel the bears if they should venture to close. Identification: Black Bear scat will contain things like berries, nuts and fish bones. Grizzly bear scat will contain bells and smell like pepper spray. :-) | ||
