Yeah them Turkeys is tough to hunt..... wave

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

I did nearly the same thing with a Bald Eagle in NV once. Difference was he took out the window in the front of my overhead camper. It did a lot more damage than you would think a bird could do. Happened this a way:

I was on my way to the Bay Area of California under orders to report to the USS Pyro AE-24 wwhich was homeported at Concord Naval Weapon Station. I was single at the time and wasn't eligible for off ship lodging so I decided to bring the camper with me on top of the truck. That way I could have a place to get away from the ship without having to lay out big money for rent. This was in 1992.

I was diving just outside Winnemucca NV on I-80 and was coming around a bend in the highway. The eagle was feeding on a dead deer on the side of the road and it when it took flight it met the camper at about 60 mph.

Tore the shit out of the front of the camper, took out the window and the eagle ended up on the bunk over the cab. I pulled over immediately and checked the damage. Didn't want to get caught going into the Land of the Looney with a dead Bald Eagle so I pitched it in the ditch and got the hell out of there. Pulled over at the next place I could and cleaned the mess up as best as possible. There was a lot of feathers and blood that needed cleaned up.

Repair bill for the camper came to something like $700. That was a pretty good chunk of change in 1992. So much for having a cheap place to chill out in. Cool

actually there is no closed season with a truck.

Over the years I've gotten as many deer with my truck as with any two of my rifles.

happened to me too... December of '07 I took a turkey in the drivers side of the windshield of my Ford Ranger.

Obviously in a ford ranger the windshield is a lot smaller than that truck

I was doin about 70 and the impact took out the left 2/3 of the windshield, it didn't come through but thanks to my sunglasses...
