I hope this hasn't been posted before.
An 80 year old woman's husband passes away and she terribly distraught with the fear of living alone. So after awhile she decides to committ suicide. Scared of the possibility that she might live through a self inflicted posioning she decides that she will shoot herself with her husband's pistol. First she thinks that she'll shoot herself through the head but thinks better of it as it would require a closed casket at the funeral. Finally she settles on a shot through the heart. Not wanting to botch this she calls her doctor and ask him to tell her exactly where the heart is. He says "Well it's right under your left breast". One hour later they admitted the old woman to the hospital with a gun shot to her left knee cap.

Joan Rivers told that story years ago on the Johnny Carson Show, before Jay Leno took over the show.
