When fire wagons were horse drawn, fire departments had Dalmations running along the wagons. This was because they had a distinctive and recognizable look and the crowds knew to get out of the way. A first grade teacher asked her class if they knew why fire departments had Dalmations. Little Johnny said so they could find the fire hydrants. | ||
