A large firm was looking for a new accountant. And they had three excellent candidates and so,(can't you guess) the board of directors decided to ask each one a single question and let their answers determine the winner.

They called in the first candidate and asked: "what is the sum of seven and four?" The candidate looked quite confused but answered, "that would be eleven".

The BoD said "fine, we'll be in touch" and called in the second candidate and asked him the same question. Fearing a trick question, the candidate thought long and hard for several minutes before answering "eleven".

The BoD called in the last candidate and asked him "what is the sum of seven and four?" The candidate thought for a minute and then went over and closed all of the window blinds and then locked the door before facing the board and asking "What would you like it to be?"

The following has been added just for Idaho Rich:

To which the Board of Directors replied, "you are the winning candidate. When can you start?"
