I got these pictures from a friend in Washington State. Her squirrel feeder kept getting raided: It is a long ways, but I think I can make it. I sure hope this rope holds. It tastes terrible. It sure smells good but the door is so small. It is handy to have a long tongue. Good Hunting... from Varmint Al http://www.varmintal.com/ahunt.htm

My experience with bears in the back yard, is that it is hard to sneak passed the wife with a rifle.

Back in the day, BC ( before children ) the wife and I used to sneak up to Beech Mountain for romantic getaways in some little chalet. I would always take some sunflower seeds and place them on the deck railing for the chipmunks, squirrels, and birds. It always provided some intertainment when just sitting around. As luck would have it, we were lying in the floor in front of the fireplace one afternoon. Things were going well and I was about to go for the kill when all of a sudden my wife starts screaming. I roll over and look out the screen door and am literally nose to with a small black bear that was trying to vacumn up sunflower seeds that were spread over the deck. We had a mexican standoff for about 20 seconds and over the rail he went. Kinda spoiled the mood.

Here is WA state, I hardly ever see bear, but the dropping are common, even in suburbia. They are like a cow pie with cherry pits. I had 2000 feet of property line cleared with a bulldozer, and I was walking the line, when I got in a face off with a very large black bear. Finnally, he turned and went into the woods.
