We have people her who love guns.

Some have an incredible collection of the best old English rifles.

They all come over to my place to shoot.

Sometimes they bring with them a visiting friend of theirs.

I always end up as the subject to laughter at.

I have one Holland & Holland rifle that belonged to my grandfather.

The subject of their ridicule is my 375/404.

The one I built to hunt with.

Nothing was right in building that rifle.

I set up the thread cutting tool on the lathe too close.

To cut the thread, I had to chamfer the outside of the barrel slightly to be able to cut the thread far enough!

This gives the impression that the barrel is not tight to the action!

Even my friend Dwight saw it, and said “What the Hell!”

After I explained it to him, he was happy.

Add to this the only stock I had that fit it was an MPI stock, but too thin by the magazine.

Is the magazine box protrudes down below!

Basically a rifle that would never have made it out of a factory.

But, it works.

And I have been hunting with it for years.

Anyway.

My friends like to tell others that THAT is my pride and joy!

Made in an afternoon in my garage!

Being too tight with money, not buy a proper rifle!

A gun nut like no other!

As the old adage goes, "Beware of a man who only owns one gun; he most likely knows how to use it." Saeed, I can relate. I built a scout on a 30-40 Krag years ago, jeweled every interior surface, built a set trigger, etc. Externally it looks like a dogs hind leg but performs like a champ; I use it to shoot skeet. As has been said, it's not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.

Never mistake motion for action.
