Lettitia always took her son Leroy to church on Sunday. On a particular Sunday a visiting preacher with a reputation for healing was speaking, and laying on the fire and brimstone. The congregation was mightily uplifted and showering him with Amens and Praise the Lords when the godly man stopped abruptly and announced that he was greatly moved to begin his healing, and asked if anyone needed God's help. Lettitia raised her hand and said she was concerned about Leroy's hearing, whereupon the preacher reached out to Leroy, placed his hands on the boy's ears and called upon God to cast Satan out of his head. He then asked Leroy if it helped. "I don't know yet', said Leroy. "My hearing's not until next week."
