I was wondering if I make it to africa for dangerous game. What do you think about this combination in 416wby and 375H&H. Do you think this would be a good Dangerous Game battery? And if I can take it along I was thinking maybe a good lever action 45/70 just for the heck of it. "Science only goes so far then God takes over." | ||

I don't like push-feeds for DG. As for the cartridges, the .375H&H has a long and distinguished history in the game fields of Africa, and would be a fine choice for lion or leopard. The .416Wby. with super-premium bullets would work well enough, if you could handle the recoil. Since you are only allowed two rifles in most safari destinations, you'll have to leave the lever-action .45-70 at home. George  | |||

Weatherby DGR with Rem 700 African Big Game for back up Jarrod, You've probably been around here long enough to know that most (but not all) posters here don't think very highly of the Weatherby or Remington actions for a DG rifle. So, are you seriously asking your question or are you just throwing out bait to see if you can get another thread going similar to the .45-70 threads (i.e. with lots of bickering, etc.)? -Bob F. | |||
