The effect nitroglycerin is to strongly dilate blood vessels, dropping blood pressure. Probably the worst that would happen in small quantity is a "nitro headache". If you didn't notice that, you're as OK as you ever were.

I think he is pulling our leg. I should have told him that it produces a permanent erection, which can only be cured by severing a nerve, which renders the person permanently impotent.
