A woman walks past a pet shop one morning on her way to work and sees a parrot sitting on a stand in the open doorway of the shop.

The parrot says: : 'Geez! You are ugly!"

The woman is insulted and hurries past. That evening she is walking home from work and, again, passes the parrot.

The parrot squawks: " Geez, you really are ugly!"

The following morning as she passes the store, the parrot squawks: " Boy, are you ugly!"

This time, the woman walks into the store and complains to the manager. She tells him that she will organize a boycott against his store unless the manager does something about this insulting parrot.

The manager is suitably worried and assures her that he will speak to the parrot. In fact, he does and threatens the parrot with immediate execution if he ever delivers such remarks again to people passing by.

The following morning the lady walks by.

The parrot says: " Psst!"

The lady looks at him and says: " What do you want to say?"

The parrot says with a leering smile: " You know".
