Doctor Dave had sex with one of his patients and felt guilty and remorseful.

Regardless of how much he tried to forget about it, he couldn't. The guilt and sense of betrayal was overwhelming.

He tried to rationalize the encounter and reassure himself by thinking: "Dave, stop worrying about it. You aren't the first doctor to sleep with a patient and you won't be the last. And besides, you're single. Just let it go."

Invariably, however, another voice would bring him back to reality, whispering: "But Dave, you're a vet!"
