Very late on a calm and quiet night in 1792 a passerby in the St. Marx Cemetery in Vienna heard very strange, musical-type sounds. Alarmed, he went to the rectory and informed the priest, who went to the cemetery and listened. Stunned, but not understanding what he had heard, the priest summoned the choir director. The director listened for a minute and his face broke into a smile. "It is The Magic Flute being played backwards." he declared. "Mozart is decomposing."
