This trip began last year when I decided to remodel a house. Karoline helped her dad(Keith) with the cleaning. Having fished in my pond several times, I knew she was a fisher so I thought it would be neat to take her Striper fishing just to say thanks. We chose to go in the winter because you catch more fish, the fish are smaller but the numbers are higher and I wanted her to catch a bunch of fish. Boy did she, caught the biggest fish and the most. Once she got the hang of how things worked, when the rod bent, she pounced on it.
We went with David Hare, Alexander City Guide Service on Lake Martin in central Alabama. The state stocks stripers every year, the fish spawn but for some reason the eggs don't develop. My wife went along and we all caught fish and had a great time. The weather was cold but the fishing was hot. Even though the rain cut our fishing time down a bit, we still caught over 25 fish in about 4 1/2 hours.

One of Jane's fish, the ladies out did the guys by a long shot. Actually , we let them win, if you believe that.
Even Keith caught some. Usually , when he puts a line in the water, the fish swim the other way.
When the rods bend, it gets pretty hectic
.
Looks like a happy group. We are already planning on returning in May when you catch bigger fish, 15 + # with some going over 20# Posts: 1208 | Registered: 14 June 2010 one of us posted Posts: 3863 | Location: SC,USA | Registered: 07 March 2002 One of Us posted

You might want to spell check the title of your post. Great catch, BTW.
Thanks, I can't spell even with spell check. Posts: 1208 | Registered: 14 June 2010 Powered by Social Strata Please Wait. Your request is being processed...
