Talked to Zancudo Lodge at DSC. They have a max of 30 people at the lodge at one time, and 32 foot Contenders with dual Yamaha 300HP. Their big selling point was theses boats are fast enough to go to the FADs if they are productive and run further to get to where the fish are. Anybody fished with them ?

Zancudo is directly across the Golfo Dulce from Crocodile Bay and they have about the same run to the fishing grounds. The main difference between the 2 operations is you fly into Puerto Jimenez and 5 minutes later you are at the resort. With Zancudo, you fly into Golfito then have a rather long schlep by water to the resort. Overall, the operations are very similar.

You get mosquitos with one operation and crocodiles with the other? Sounds like pick your poison.

I’ll take the crocodiles every time. Saw a few crocs at CBR and no skeeters.

They are “across” from Crocodile Bay but their run is farther by a bit…thus they run the Contenders.
Last year I was running North out of Panama and saw their boats out with us on the Tuna.
Personally…I’ve fished them all
1) for pure fishing go to Sportfish Panama Island Lodge just South of there in the Gulf of Chiquiri.
I prefer Crocodile Bay otherwise (but I take the family) which skews my choice there a bit

All good choices but Panama is even easier to get to and fishing is even better…cost is basically the same with all.
