I just tied my first Salmon flies and have decided to use the small loop bottle tube system. I was rcommended the size 12 loop nickel doubles with it but I think they are too big so I'm gonna go with some size 14 short trebles.

I'm going for a cascade type fly which I hope will fish a bit deeper than the traditional small double or plastic micro tube. Also in a faster flowing current I believe that these tubes will fish a tighter leader than traditional flies giving the swing round in the current a more consistent movement.


I will tie some more in perhaps an orange arctic fox or perhaps some purple or yellow. hopefully I will remember to post some pics again.
