It's hard to register that people actually get eaten alive by these monsters. Were we not already familiar with them, they would be beyond all imagination. What a way to go.

A few people are killed by great whites but they are not 'eaten alive'. The shark's hunting technique is to attack its prey, then back off and wait for it to bleed to death, therefore, the victims are already dead when they are eaten.

Actually more people die from slipping in the bathtub.
