On the Gasconade river there is a hole in solid rock that a good sized tree grows out of. It makes me wonder how many seeds one would have to put in there to get one to take hold and produce a tree like this one. ![]() ALLEN W. It is not uncommon in Texas to find a prickly pear growing in a tree. Birds crap or drop the seeds into a hollow from a broken limb or into a crotch. The prickly pear can grow almost anywhere. | |||
