Any recommendations on where to purchase a new laptop? I am trying to stay away from Best Buy, Walmart or any of those "mom and pop" stores. Looking at purchasing from a place that has a good customer service base with good reviews. And, sells good, high quality products. Also, any recommendations on brands would be good, too. Thanks!!

All depends on what you are going to use it for. You can practically pick any maker today and you will be happy with it. The better ones are more expensive. For general everyday use any of the small 11-13 inch ones are great. I recommend Dell. For serious photo and video work, again, there is a great choice too, but you are talking several thousand Dollars cost. Again, I use the Dell XPS i9 15 inch latest models. I change mine every two years, passing the old ones onto someone who can appreciate and use it, and get a new one.

Thank you, Saeed. I remember seeing a post from you a while back stating that you actually built some of your computers before. Very impressive. I am a PC guy myself. I have considered switching to apple, but I am not accustomed to their operating system. This would be used for daily use for email, net surfing, etc. nothing extreme. i will look into what you recommended. Thank you again!

I do build my own desktop PCs. Basically I cannot find the one I want commercially available. I need good processing power, good graphic performance and lots of storage. Non is available commercially, or can be ordered at some ridiculous price. I even built a small PC to use with our EPILOG FUSION PRO laser printer. Nowadays it is not so difficult building a PC, as everything fits. Motherboards have exactly the same connections, and are compatible with everything, except the CPU. Once you decide on either an INTEL or AMD the rest is the same. I use INTEL CPUs exclusivley.

for work I have ued ThinkPads and Dells. The Dell is nice - 2 TB SSD - runs the Adobe Creartive Suite easily. At home I use Macs exclusively and have for 20+ years now.

I don't have enough brains to operate Macs! Finished a desktop a couple of weeks ago to replace a 4 year old one I built. Intel i9 13900KS 128 MB RAM 3x 4TB SSD 8x 20 TB hard disks. Laptop Dell XPS i9 13th generation, upgraded to 8 TB SSD. I do a lot of videos processing, normally from a drone, and people are amazed how quickly the desktop does them, while they are enjoying a coffee in our workshop. I know, these are expensive machines, but ultimately they pay for themselves. The 4 year old desktop I passed on to a friend's daughter, she does a lot of Adobe Illustrator work, and she is over the moon for getting it.

Whatever you get, remember to not keep it plugged in all the time. That kills the battery.

Buy any of the Dell models with the Intel processors and I think you'll be happy.

Here is one I bought that is like new condition still under factory warranty. I paid about half of what Amazon has it listed for. I use it for basic email and web surfing is all. It does all that I need it to and then some. HP Elitebook 650 G9

Bottom line is if it does what you wish, that is all that counts.
