Those pics are awesome, even with the strange colored bands. Wink

I love the duck series. Looks something like the gadwalls we sometimes get here, but it's not. Species?

Siberians suffer in the heat, so I bet they need to be well AC. But they are really sweethearts compared to our American Accips

Harlans are flown alot in AK...very common. I tried to trap a particular beautiful female Kriders last fall with no luck. They seem more skittish than typical RTs.

Those albidus are pricey.

Was it Beebe who commented on the Krider's temperament reminding him of Goshwaks. I've seen the odd lighter specimen of our Eastern RT here, but its an oddity.

Sounds right. I wondered about that until I talked to some falconers in the Lower 48 who said the same thing about trapping Kriders.

I don't know anyone flying a Krider. Do you?

I've only seen one in the field meets since 2004, I took some pixes of it, but he didnt fly it that week, too many hawks had gotten hammered by wild ones. Darryl got his Siberian killed by a Ferrug while it was occupied subduing prey. All those hours of training wasted. Golden eagles had a feast too.

Also got to see a fight between a Ferrug and Goshawk on the ground too, Red-Tails are one tough customer.

Darryl was the only guy flying one I knew of. I didn't know a ferrug got it...pity.

Speaking of ferrugs, I'm moving to New Mexico and would like to work with a ferrug. They are seriously underrated...awesome on jacks.

Not too many flown... They do look impressive. Fly like eagles but look like their Buteo cousins up close.
