I sent you an e-mail with the regulations we have in NY. In addition to the regulations, all new falconers in NY must be 'sponsored' by a master falconer who will accept them as an 'apprentice' for two years (so you can't do this on your own in NY). I have two friends who are falconers - I can say for a fact that the amount of time you must devote to the birds DAILY/YEAR-ROUND should be the FIRST consideration to anyone getting interested. You can't just throw a rabbit it their 'cage' and go away on vacation for a week. If you are really interested, try to meet up with a local falconer who would be willing to show you what it's all about. (It's neat as all hell to go out and see one of these birds catch a rabbit, but the time and money spent out of the field is amazing). | ||
