I found the nest.

For some reason we picked a fish eagle, that would rather eat rotting carrion as a national emblem. It is probably wise not to spend too much time thinking about it.

Having seen these animals in person.
Considering alternatives.

I think we made the right choise.
I have seen them with fish.
I have seen them with snakes.
I have not seen them eating rotting carrion.

I have spent most of my life in Bald Eagle areas, seen just as many bald eagles dining on road rabbit as I have seen them eating fish. Not to mention lots of dead salmon picked off the beach.

Up here, they pretty much live off road killed deer...around the lakes they eat fish, crap on your boat, and ruin the paint. Eagle shit must be made out of battery acid or something. They're like some of the women I've known....hateful to the core, but too pretty to shoot. I don't imagine they taste very good either.
