i us a 22/250impv. with the sierra 80 gr in a 8" twist which works well. swift will do the same. there are some heavier bullets out there up to 105 gr i believe, but i would think that they would really have to spin around

224 TTH is basically a 6MM Rem necked down to 224. Generally has a fast twist so as to launch heavey bullets at high velocities for deer.

226 Barnes Quick Twist.
Velocity only 2700 sorry
bullet 125gr
Twist...1-5.5 or 1-6 if I remember correctly.
Parent case???????

You'll never recover a bullet from anything shy of an ele. Sectional density beats everything else available-all calibers.

I got a 22-284. 80gr JLK VLDs at nearly 3600fps.
BC is about .600, look at Sierra's copy.

There is the 308/22 (.22 CHeeta Mk. I and Mk. II).

Heard of the 22 eargasplittingloudengeboomsen? It's a 50 Browning necked down to 224! It was some experimental thing some arsenal was doing. That was the project name for it. Apparently they actually got it to work! It was quite noisy.

FWIW if you build your 22 on a single shot a 28 inch tube can be as handy as a 26 or shorter barrel on a boltgun.

Isn't the CHeetah a 22-08 with a small primer pocket? If so, are there any issues with reliable ignition, especially when used in cold weather?

Use a Savage action and a full bull barrel. That way you can just keep cutting threads in it and cutting the shank off to get a fresh throat every 100 rounds.
