(also posted in reloading) I recently acquired a Ruger M77 MkII All Weather (SS/Synthetic) w/24" bbl. I just felt the need for a small bore in my battery and have always liked the 06 based family. I live & hunt in Mississippi. Primary use will be whitetail deer and possibly varmints ie. coyotes & bobcats, etc. at sometime I am partial to the Hodgdon Extreme powder concept - insensivity to temp. change BUT am open to any suggestions. Currently looking at the Noslere Partion (115/120 gr), and the Accubond (110 gr) BUT again I am open to suggestion. What has worked for you? Thanks 4570 Forever

I have no experience with the new 110AB. With the 115 part and the 115BT I used 60grs & 60.2grs of H4831. I've used that in Texas weather from 30 to 100+. I have some loaded worked up using RL19 but have not had time to take them to the range. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

IMR 4350 and 120gr bullets have worked well for me in several 25/06's. The 120 Speer Hot Core, 120 Hornady HP, and 120gr Sierra HPBT are all excellent deer bullets, if the premiums don't shoot to your satisfaction. Good luck, and let us know what works!

IMR 4350 for 115-120. Not tried 110AB. Working with RL22, but haven't had chance to test loads.

I've found that H4831 works better for 100+ grain bullets and gives higher velocities. I've shot a few deer with the 120 Sierra HPBT and have never lost nor had to track a deer yet. Ive shot the 115 Nosler Ballistic Tips and they are wonderfully accurate but I have not shot an animal with them yet. The 100 grain Sierra Matchking is also a super accurate bullet for target work. 25-06 is an awesome caliber!!!

I have found the Nosler 100 gr. BT on top of some IMR 4831 is the ticket for my rifle. 5 shot groups cutting each other at 100 yds is the norm with this load in my rifle... key being, in my rifle. Work up a load and see how you like it. I think the 100 gr. will work just fine for deer. I only use it for groundhogs with a bipod. The rifle is just too heavey to shoot offhand. ______________________________ Well, they really aren't debates... more like horse and pony shows... without the pony... just the whores. 1955, Top tax rate, 92%... unemployment, 4%. imr 4350 works great with 100,110 grainers, noslers 110 shoots great also, hogdons 4350 should work great also,iv''e not shot alot of 115''s or 117''s or 120''s but i''d use a slower powder with these h4831 or reloader-22 would be my pick, for varmits try speers 87grain tnt or noslers 85 balistic tip, hornady makes a good 75 v max also, enjoy your 25-06 its always been a winner!! regards jjmp

h4831 under 100 Gr Barnes-X for whitetails. RL-22 under 100 gr Hornady soft points for coyotes etc. Still do not have the combination for 120 or maybe they are 115 Nosler Partitions. I really have not worked with the rifle/loads since my wife has claimed it. Buy lots of bullets, brass and powders and have fun.

In my current 25-06(M700 w/ 24" bbl) IMR 7828 has been the best powder with 115-120 class bullets. 7828 has given good velocities and low spreads. I've tried 4350, R22, H4831, and H1000 as well and couldn't get the results as the 7828 loads in this particular rifle. Your's will probably differ but, I'd certainly give 7828 a look. I love the 25.06 and have owned six different rifles chambered in that caliber. I currently own a Rem Classic 25.06 that i'll never part with. It shoots pretty much anything i feed it with good accuracy but it has several loads that it shoots better than others. My favorite load is the 110gr Accubond in front of 53.5grs of RL22. This load is very accurate in my rifle and it's performance on game has been excellent for me. I can also say the same thing about the Speer 120gr HotCor in front of 49grs of IMR4350. Both these loads have worked really well with this rifle. Life's Tough....God's Good....Pray Hard!
