I recently purchased one of these rifles. Like the looks, feel, fit and weight. 1st trip to the range was ok. Nothing special, about 2" at 100 was the best I could do with quality optics. Next trip revealed a big problem, groups were pushed out to SIX INCHES! Looked gun over, found that the screw under the floor plate that goes up into the action was loose. After I tightened it the bolt wouldn't move. My initial thought was ok, the screws too long. It wasnt, the fit between the mag box and stock are so poor that if you tighten the screw it warps the metal. Took it to the warranty place here in anchorage. They tell me the only way to fix it is with a new stock or glass bedding. Why should I have to deal with this in a brand new gun? Im so tired of poor quality control. So off my gun goes back to winchester at my expense. The moral of this story is, if you dont have a coyote dont get one. If you have a good one your lucky, as after some research I find this is not an isolated incident. The way winchester handles this situation will depict wether I ever buy another rifle from them. Just thought you all might like to here.

In the past year of so I've heard so much about the bad quality of "american" made firearms. Remington and Winchester top the list. I've had two winchesters and two remingtons in the past two years. For the money I spent trading around and so forth, i could have had a nice sig sauer rifle. Man that sucks, I'd call win guns and tell them they're paying for the shipping, well, wait until the rifle comes back... maybe they'll surprise you, if they don't do anything miraculous, complain until they foot the postage.. it was their mistake not yours.

These comments seem to mirror my experience with Wichester (USRAC) rifles. Even the so called classic (pre-64 action) models have very rough actions and poor fit and finish. Remington products have also gone downhill. Not a great situation, especially considering how much they cost now a days.
