Thought I'd jump in again on the question of stock fit. I'm 5'7 and a fairly athletic 170 lbs. I find that the stock design of the Kimber handles recoil very well. I have been surprised at the very comfortable felt recoil of the rifle. Some years ago I had a custom 6mm Rem, that weighed at least 3 lbs more, and as I recall, felt recoil seemed noticably greater than the Kimber with similar loads. I like my Kimber Montana so much that I just ordered an 8400 in 270WSM and french walnut stock.

The 84M's comb is high but fits me and obviously not some others. The effect of this high comb is quite a straight line from the bore to the butt plate compared to older rifles. I can see the 58 gr bullets hit from the very light 243 Montana but not from an old M70 with 50 gr bullets and that rifle goes 11 pounds! I can see them hit out of the Swift when loaded with the 40 gr bullet.

Three of my four Kimbers now have Burris Signature Zee rings and that's a very high ring even in the so called medium size. No doubt one should try a gun before buying it.
