For grins I loaded up some 100gr NP's for one of my Bob's. Why you ask, when I have 93 other bullets that shoot well? Well, why not Smiler .

They shoot well in a pre-64 m70 that I have a Lyman aperture sight on, just under 3,000 fps. I shot two, 200 pound mature bucks this weekend and both only went about 25 yards. Both deer left great blood trails and both's vitals were mush.

I have to say I like the NP. Never used them before. I think I could use any bullet because the shots have to be 100 yards or less with my eyes but I like the assurance of having a bullet that will push through.

I probably have a dozen different loads worked up for most of the guns that I own, just because.

Glad to hear they are shooting well in your Roberts!
I've only been able to get Partitions to shoot in one of our rifles after trying them in a dozen or more.
I'm like Fjold most of my rifles have a handful of "pet loads" for each rifle just because it is fun to do.
The 257 Roberts is such a great cartridge you have to try pretty hard to find a bullet that won't work well on deer.
My son has taken about a dozen whitetails with 100 grain Sierra's and I've shot some big mule deer with 117 Sierra's, all work great and all exit the deer.
We are now toying with the 110 Accubond....

If you are comfortable with the rifle and the loadings and can place your shots where they need to go I don't see a problem.

Lora's .257 Roberts really like the old 1187 grain Remington Core-Loct Round Nose bullet and she has killed plenty of deer with it.

Even the rocks don't last forever.
